When you are in the middle of winter weather, especially if involved in an accident due to the weather, your mind immediately goes to the question “where am I going to go to get this fixed?”. Finding the right body shop can be a strenuous process during an already stressful situation. We have two primary considerations for choosing the right body shop.
Reviews and Reputation
Reviews are an important aspect to picking any service. Look at the body shop’s reviews and how long they’ve been in business. It’s important to look at overall quality, people are happy with the repairs, and the customer service, and then the amount of time that their vehicle was in the shop. A lot of people can have a vehicle in the shop for a lengthy period of time and still get a bad repair. If a lot of reviews reflect, “I got it out quicker than I thought and I was happy with the service and quality of their work”, then you will learn about what to expect. But also remember that nobody is perfect and all 5 star reviews can be a red flag.
Color Customs has over 100 5-star reviews with an average rating of 4.8 stars
Insurance Referral
If you have been in an accident and your insurance company refers you to a body shop, remember that you have the right to choose your own body shop no matter what. They can recommend going to see one of their partner body shops, but you still have the option to choose to go wherever you want for the repairs. Choosing to not use one of the insurance’s preferred shops will not change how the insurance company will pay on the claim. However, certain body shops have labor and part rates that might be slightly different than others with an agreement they have with the insurance company.
Color Customs has great relationships with several insurance companies. We are a preferred vendor for:
- State Farm
- Liberty Mutual
- Geico
