Here are 5 steps that outline the Color Customs Collision process for getting your car back on the road.
- Check with Your Insurance
If you’re planning on getting the repairs done through an insurance company, you’ll need to make a repair claim with the company responsible for repairing your vehicle. Most insurance companies will set up an appointment for them to look at the vehicle and develop an initial estimate for repairs.
In some cases, we act as Direct Repair Partners (DRP) for the responsible insurance company. This makes things easier for you since you can directly call us for an estimate appointment after filing your claim. Please note that the insurance company must assign the work to us before we can do this. You can always check with the insurance company if we’re a DRP for them.
Make sure to have your insurance company give you a written and approved estimate.
If you are not using an insurance company, call or visit us for a free estimate on your repairs.
2. Fill Out the Repair Authorization Form
Before bringing your car into the shop, we ask our customers to fill out a Repair Authorization Form, which can be found here. This gives us the information and permission we need to start working on your vehicle.
3. Bring Your Vehicle In
Once the Repair Authorization Form is submitted, bring your vehicle in and we will begin work on it right away.
4. Repair Process
We begin the repair process by removing the damaged area to check for hidden damage. Do not worry! We’ll talk to the insurance company to approve additional damages that are not included in the original estimate. This is very common.
5. Back on the Road
The question that may be coming to your mind now is “That’s great, but how long will it take to repair my vehicle?” It all depends on how severe the damage is to your vehicle, and the availability of parts. Minor claims such as damage to bumpers or small dents usually take a day to three days to repair. Larger claims can take from 5 to 12 working days, and sometimes up to 30 days. We guarantee the best quality work in the shortest time possible.
We want you to be able to fully recover from an unanticipated collision repair. Part of this process is choosing the right collision center. Color Customs is here to help.
